Past 2 nights some deep conversation has taken place between myself and Facebook friends. Just wanted to share. I have abbreviated my friends names to protect thier identities. I of course am Angela.

I really hope the police are mistaken. I just read they found her body. For real It pains me to think my girls will do it one day because they choose to, I could not imagine letting a 5 year old go for that purpose. If her mother truly did that I think they should lock her up for life in the men's Penitentiary. Then she will know what she sentenced her baby to until the end of her little life.

Your first reaction came across loud and clear.'If she did this then she needs her ass whipped', 'That sentence maybe just what she needs'. Isn't it just as disturbing and sick to wish pain & suffering on another human being? What about the system, family and community that also failed this child?

IF this Mother (who is not cooperating with police) is found guilty of selling her child into prostitution who ultimately died as a result of her horrible action I have no pity for this person. She should receive the stiffest punishment possible. My care and concern is for that beautiful 5 year old girl who died a miserable and lonely death because of her own Mother. A child is a parent responsibility first and foremost. Communities can fail you; your own family can fail you but your Mother is supposed to be protector. If the Mother was involved she ultimately failed that child; no one else.

@Angela-Most would agree that a mother is SUPPOSED to be a protector. Unfortunately not every woman who gives birth is qualified to be a mother. Every child also has a father who is equally responsible for the health and well being of his kid. It's easy to judge and jump to conclusions; how about getting the facts first.

Father's are equally responsible for the children as well. I should have said Parent(s) vs. Mother. If this child Father was not in the household or not involved in her life who else is responsible for this child welfare. There are so many kids out their being abused that no one knows about; there are no obvious clues or signs. So the community or even other family members don't know there is help needed. But if the Parent(s) knows and does nothing or even worse sells their child into prostitution she is at fault. If she was not involved in the actual killing of this child but the allegations of her selling her child into prostitution is true. She is equally responsible for her death. I think we all have been stating "IF" she is guilty. I will wait for the facts and follow this tragedy closely. I hope and pray the Mother wasn't involved because that is the most heinous act any Parent could ever do. IF she is I hope she rots in prison for the rest of her life with a few beat downs along the way. Sorry that's just my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Whoever is caring for the child, it could be the babysitter, aunt, uncle, cousin or bus driver, that is the person responsible for the child's safety and well being...

No, why wait for the facts. Let's put every person away that's been accused of a crime. Let's kill the mother for being a terrible person and be done with it. I love this God loving country!! Let's take on the majority's way of dealing with criminals and become just like them. But everyone is entitled to their opinions and it's interesting to debate them.

And if we practiced the majority way of dealing with criminals the way other countries do instead of giving convicted murders and rapists 3 meals a day, cable TV and a fitness center, maybe stories like this wouldn't be up for debate. And we take this evil world as it is. I dont know how to handle this kind of evil that he has told me to take as it is. The innocent children to be murdered, molested, raped, sodomized, how can we even consider accepting this, how do we turn the other cheek. An eye for an eye in these cases that involve children I do believe would be justice and the only justice.

The important thing to remember is we are all different with our own opinions. It's ok to have a different outlook on matters like these. It's healthy to hear all opinions and intellegently deal with these matters with our heads and not our hearts. What could be done to prevent another child from suffering the same fate? What kind of Mental Health Programs are available in our communities? Drug/Sex Addiction Programs etc.... The system needs to be improved from the bottom to the top. We need more county,state, and federal programs that deal with these sorts of issues. The fact still remains however, that another child was senselessly murdered and something needs to be done

You know TC, I dont give a damn about this persons mental health, do we wait until shit like this happens and evaluate ones mental health, send this person back on the streets because the person was not held responsible for his/her actions because of mental health problems at the time of the molestation, rape, murder,etc. This process only boggs down the judicial systerm. How can you prevent a pedifile from acting on his/her fantasy. How can we pinpoint these pedifiles to offer help before this goes on. I dont know how to recognize somebody who may or may not molest a childs life to offer help. I dont tjhink I can help someone like that, the only help to offer a molestor of a childs life is a bullet to the head. I am sorry to say that but it is how I feel. When you have experience in these matters and are maybe a victim of something like this your outlook to help the predator is a mute point and not understood by me.

I say we should rip their skin off and give it to a burn victim. They dont need their skin and we will kn ow they are child molestors by the absence of skin. Take the tongue out so they can not speak, remove the eyes so they can not see but leave the ears so they can hear everybody scream at the disfigurement caused by their own actions ofmolestation of a child.That will serve well in my eyes. @CG, my point was in no way offering help to the child molester! My point was to offer help to the child or children that grow up in unhealthy enivornments. Any help that is offered to sick individuals should be care given before something like this happens not after! My first reaction was extreme anger but after reading what the Father and other Family members had written about the Mother, I decided to hear the FACTS before making casting my opinion on her punishment. If we live in a God Loving society then the punishment will ultimately be HIS to decide. My opinion will then be just that, an opinion. Far to often stories come out and have the FACTS incorrectly covered. If this parent is guilty of this terrible crime then the punishment should fit the crime. If we are getting Misinformation about this case then imagine the pain anyone would go through with A) Losing a child and B) being accused of selling her for sex! If B is correct, she should be punished BY LAW accordingly......

Then I misunderstood TC and I am sorry for that. I am God fearing and do take from the Bible all my guidance and not just the ones I pick and choose from. The Old Testament is just as important to me as the New Testament. That being said I do believe that eye for an eye should be applied in some cases. Like taking a childs childhood away, how can they get that back, they cant. Vitimize a child, help a victim. In this case I am leaning towards losing the skin to help a burn victim.Pretty harsh I know but so is losing your childhood. Only speaking from emotions running high as a mother who loves her children and not at all understanding helping a person who MIGHT HAVE sold her child.

@RC, I am not speaking about this case when I discuss Mental Health. I speak more about prevention rather than Care. The problem with society today is we react to these types of issues instead of being proactive about matters such as these. Just like the case in Cleveland, somebody has to have known in his family that he had mental health issues. Many times these problems are ignored until something tragic happens. Everyones anger is justified and I share alot of the same frustrations. I would like to see help offered or insisted upon these people before they go out committ these types of crimes not after.

@All, thank you for your input to my post. I want to be perfectly clear about this issue and my feelings. This is an unspeakable tragedy something that I would not wish on any family. Obviously there were some very sick people involved and their punishment will be dealt long after this case is over. My thoughts about hearing about things like this are why can't we do more in terms of prevention. I know we can't stop sick people completely but we have to try. I guess I am a dreamer that want sick people put in places to get help rather than having them wander among us preying on our children. Step are being made but more needs to be done. As for the mother guilt or Innocence, justice will be served to her in a way that neither you or I can imagine. Her remaining days on this Earth will be filled with images of what she's done if this is true..... If it's not true, the pain she has from losing a child is more than enough. trust me i know..... thanks for posting.....

I FULLY agree with everything CG said. RC made a very good point; these pedophiles give mental illness a bad name. I personally don't believe they are mentally Ill. I think EVIL does exist in its purest form and anyone who can violently rip apart a child vagina or anus and then strangle or stab them to death proceeded by tossing their bodies into roadsides as if they were less than a dog does not deserve retribution. What I just said was graphic but we need to put ourselves in the child's FINAL moments of life and try to imagine what their fragile, frightened and helpless bodies and spirits was going through. Only God can forgive someone like that. I know I can't that's why I'm not God. As a people we need to keep them off the streets and locked up for the rest of their life. How many of them spend years in prison for the same crime get back out and eventually do it again; A LOT. They can not be helped. The other problem is these people walk around looking, talking, working, and in most eyes living normal. I don't think the average pedophile is going to seek help for his/her evil ways. We only find out about them when they are found out. Prevention is a powerful tool for a lot of issues like HIV, Drunk Driving, etc. Prevention for pure evil is impossible. How can you prevent some monster from being a monster? So the discussion should be what to do with these people once they commit these heinous acts. I say mandatory life in prison without the possibility of parole. I would love to see them suffer as Constance described but realistically that is not going to happen.
